Abrams Announce New Album "Blue City"

Recent Blues Funeral Recordings signees ABRAMS have announced their label debut Blue City will be released on deluxe vinyl, limited CD digipack and digital on May 24th. The record was recorded and produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire, Torche, Chelsea Wolfe) at his legendary GodCity Studio. The first single from the ten track session "Fire Waltz" is available now via music video and on streaming services worldwide.

Guitarist and vocalist Zachary Amster comments on the track, "I didn't think this song would make the record, yet it turned out really great in the studio, with some of my favorite guitar tones on the album. The second verse is a standout to me, with its ethereal trippy guitar lead and memorable vocal melody singing 'haunted idols'. When we added this to the song, it definitely made it a game-changer. Additionally, the rock-out jam in the odd time signature of 5 is a fun part to play!"

On the album, Amster continues, "The songs on 'Blue City' deal with the feeling of being trapped in a place of comfort and normality. Where we may really want to pack up and try anything new; but the scare of change is holding us back for what is known as routine. The blue city is a metaphor, for this is a cold but familiar place that keeps us imprisoned from any drastically new experience. A comfort in the familiar, a fear of the unknown."
