Alpha Strategy from Prague, Czech Republic

Staple My Hand to Yours contains the first new Alpha Strategy material since 2018, when our album The Gurgler (also recorded by Steve Albini) was issued by Polish label Antena Krzyku. Since the release of The Gurgler, things changed quite a bit for the band; in 2019 after the all-Canadian line-up of myself, James McAdams, Evan Sidawi, and Dan Edwards briefly relocated to Berlin from Toronto and toured throughout 12 countries in Europe, the guys all eventually left the band and moved back to Canada. As I had started Alpha Strategy as a solo project in 2011, I wanted to keep the thing going, and opted to search for a new crew to continue with. At the end of 2019, shortly after coming to live in Prague, I was joined by Martin Doležal (guitar - Très, Bazdesh,
ex-Stinka), Filip Miškařík (drums - Hothouse, Très), and Ondřej Červený (bass - ex-Stinka) who now form the current iteration of the group with me. In addition to recording Staple My Hand to Yours with Steve Albini, over the past three years we've played more than 50 concerts in Europe and Canada, and have more shows abroad booked into 2024. The guys also regularly contribute to my Aww Man Radio & Concerts, through which we organize shows in Prague for domestic and international bands, and put together a monthly live stream radio program / podcast. - Rory Hinchey
