Mortal Ground formed in 2021.  DC Thrash band Rat Infested had lost their singer during the pandemic and joined forces with Consumed With Hatred vocalist Justin Anthony from Maryland.  While rooted in Thrash the new line up adopted more elements of Hardcore both musically and thematically.  Their debut album, “Germs of Empires’ was released in December of 2021 and was followed by the “Natural Causes” EP in October, 2022 through their own DIY label, Domestic Terror Records.  The band’s crossover mix of Metal and Hardcore elements has allowed them to play with a variety of bands from Black Metal to Punk Rock over their first year.
