What Does Murmur mean to you?
Is it a soft, often placid whisper…..barely intelligible but soothing in it’s mystery? Maybe it’s the sound of blood flowing through your heart…sometimes causing a quickening of it’s beat. Or is he the great Philosopher who resides in Hell, commanding 30 demons and summoning the dead to answer every earthly question?
Murmur is , in fact, all of these things encapsulated in a two piece Connecticut based project founded in 2017.

Murmur’s debut album, The Boundless Black, is a slow and haunting journey through love , loss, and ancient folklore…all the while the light of beauty and grace shining through. A lush tour through the cold, dark winter of life, while staying devoid of fear and riding tandem with faith and hope.

Murmur was formed in the mountains and trails of rural Connecticut by two singer/songwriters, Peter Morcey and Ryan White. Both men have tasted success with other projects in varying musical genres, but the combination of the two yielded what would become their true passion project …enter, Murmur.

The 11 song album is truly a dark musical journey. Built on acoustic guitars and two voices, the songs took on lives of their own and were supplemented with gorgeous harmonies, orchestral strings and subtle , yet poignant instrumentation. The album is a stark masterpiece of mood and chilling melodies.
