10/07/26 | [dcraley]Coilguns Release New Single "Platform Decay"
Swiss noise rockers COILGUNS will drop their new album Everything We Love, We Destroy on Humus Records next month. It was recorded by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City, Thrice, La Dispute, Neurosis) at Humus Lab (La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland), mixed by Tom Dalgety (Pixies, Ghost), and mastered by Robin Schmidt (The Hives, Yungblud) - Additional production: Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe, The Armed). Available now is the record's latest single and title track presented via music video.
The band comments on the track, “Hopelessly witnessing the systemic enshittification of the internet made us want to celebrate the hackers and geeks that are fighting to keep the digital world independent. In times when reliable information has become a rare and questionable value, we're constantly confronted with violent news, sometimes not knowing why we're getting to read it, nor knowing how to determine its level of reality.”
“This song is probably the clearest example of what Coilguns sounds like today. Every member's personality found its way into it, yet it doesn't really sound like anything we've released before. It somehow brings together everything we've learned over the years while opening another door stylistically.”
